My passion is fashion photography!
I do my own styling in all of my photos and make-up, however would love to collaborate with other stylists, make-up and hair professionals to add variety to my portfolio.
I studied Commercial Photography at the Sydney Institute of Technology for 2 years for technical grounding whilst assisting a freelance commercial and wedding photographer, before moving on to develop my creative style in a Bachelor of Fine Art at the University of Newcastle, majoring in photography and graphic design, and topping my year in both.
I have worked in model portfolio photography for 8 years, taking a break to pursue an interest in Psychology which adds another dimension to my mixed media painting art, another passion of mine.
Formerly my business was known as Vanite Portfolios Photography (the e pronounced as "y" but there is no symbol option for a French e in this little type box), hence my profile being VPP.
That business name is no longer and I am returning to photography work under my name, Tanya Duckworth, and wanting to pick up high fashion work!
My Style
I work in a very haphazard photography style I would say.
I basically took all of my technical knowledge from TAFE placed it in a filing cabinet in the back of my mind, and photoshopped over it with creative chaos! If I need the info, it's there, but I would rather just play with lighting, use unconventional lights, methods, cameras etc and see what the mood brings. Of course I like to plan my shoots to an extent, but I find if a shoot is over-planned, the results are often disappointing because sometimes creative "mistakes" can make or break the final image!Favourite Labels
My favourite labels are Alexander McQueen, Alanah Hill, Halican Boodie (their swimwear is to die for), anything theatrical and beautiful, whatever contributes something original to an outfit... vintage is wonderful. Cute little Korean labels fascinate me! I'm not much of a jewelry person because nothing is ever original enough to inspire me, not because I don't like jewelry (I love it), a fantastic Sydney label called TMOD has really original interactive jewelry, I love it and it's the only jewelry at the moment that I enjoy wearing. Best Feature
My best feature is my unpredictable personality and excitement for new ideas!Something You Should Know
