How do I become a member?
Simply go to the apply page and click on the relevant profile type, then fill in your details. Profiles are screened to ensure the best quality, and to exclude spammers, so be sure to fill in as many details as possible.
I've signed up, but am still told I must be a member to access certain areas... why?
Your profile has to be approved fully before you can access all member areas. This usually takes up to 24 hours - if you're still not approved it's probably because your profile isn't up to scratch - be sure to update your profile with images and more details about yourself.
What is myPlace?
This is your home; a central place where you can find your way to everything else. It summarises the latest from the forums, cliques, blog, fashion diary, profile comments and broadcasts. It also allows you to access areas which aren't in the top navigation menu - like updating your profile, visitors, trends and little black book.
How do I send someone a message?
When at the person's profile page, click on the 'Send Message' icon in the right hand corner. If you want to see mail you've sent in the past, click on the 'Mail' link at the top of the page, then click on 'Sent Mail' in the sub-menu. While we've got your attention, please remember that we only keep mail on our servers for 12 months. If you need it beyond that, please save it to your computer.
What is the Little Black Book?
Your Little Black Book lets you keep track of your friends and contacts on Fashionising. It tells you know when you last talked to them, allows you to send them broadcasts and also lets you leave comments on their photos.
How do I add someone to my Little Black Book?
When at the person's profile page, click on the 'Little Black Book' icon in the right hand corner. If the person is already in your LBB, it will say 'In your Little Black Book.'
What are Broadcasts?
Broadcasts are messages which are sent out to all the contacts in your little black book. If you have a message or exciting piece of news you want to tell all your contacts, but don't want to message them each individually, you can use the broadcast feature.
How do I send a Broadcast?
You can find Broadcasts in the right hand panel of myPlace. To send one to all the members of your Little Black Book simply click on "Send A Broadcast" and enter your message.
I want to comment on someone's photo, but can't... why?
You must be in the person's Little Black Book to be able to leave them photo comments.
How do I invite my friends to join Fashionising?
In the top right corner of myPlace, there's a link called 'Invite Friends'. Enter the name and email address of the person you want to invite - you can also add a personalised message to them. You can invite as many people as you like!
What are cliques?
Cliques are groups of like-minded people coming together to discuss a particular topic, or simply to have their own private area on Fashionising. Each clique has its own 'Coat of Arms' to identify it, a forum for dedicated discussion, and a gallery for flickr images and youtube videos related to the clique's theme.
How do I find jobs in the fashion industry?
Visit the Casting Calls Board to find out which jobs and opportunities are available to you. The application process is really simple - just go to the casting call and click on 'Express Interest'.
How can I promote my profile to more people?
The more people who see you, the more work (and a reputation) you're likely to get, so we've made a number of tools to help you get out there.
Use all three and you'll be well on the way to becoming the next Kate Moss, Terry Richardson, or Anna Wintour.
What is a personal URL?
This is an easy-to-remember address for your profile, as chosen by you. To set your personal URL, go to the 'Update Profile' page (you can get to it through myPlace), then click on the 'Links' tab. You can use your personal URL to point people to your profile - for example, add it as a link to your own personal website or in email signatures, etc.
How do I use widgets?
The widget is a special slideshow gallery of your photos that you can add to other websites. These are available to members with Fashionising portfolios. Go to the 'Update Profile' page and click on the 'Portfolio' tab. You'll be able to copy and paste the code for your widget into any other websites to make your widget show up.
Want to add more to your profile to really make it represent you? Or perhaps you want to customise it so it fits with your branding. It's easy to do - and if you want more assistance feel free to contact Allan.
How do I customise my profile with videos and photos?
You can add images, videos, slideshows and more. See section on Rogue Code to find out how.
The easy way to put photos in your profile is to use the Rogue Code image command. As an example;

It allows you to post everything from photos, to links, to videos. Here's a basic run-down, if you're after more detailed instructions you can ask questions in the the Customise Your Profile clique.
