Fashionising.com headed backstage to the Haizhen Wang autumn / winter 2013 show where we shadowed head make-up artist Yin Lee at AOFM Pro. As we approached the model in her hot seat, we noticed blue stripes strewn across her face; we took the liberty to ask what the inspiration behind this look was: “A tribal look with a modern twist, for example we are using…

“Florals for Fall!” a fitting slogan for the Zimmermann autumn / winter 2013 collection; a palette of almond white, sun yellow, gold and marl grey flowers all fused together to make a decedent lineup. The range has a feminine feel with its floral, chiffon pleated maxi dress and it’s iridescent gold skater dress; this summer-esque vibe actually makes us long for Fall. The pieces that…

It was a fine evening when the duo extraordinaire that is Alexander Leimbach and Roman Makuhha, owners and designers of Euphorik London, put on their preview at The Gallery, based under Wolf & Badger. The pair met whilst working at Yves Saint Lauren and created and launched their brand last year.

The obvious observation to make here would be it’s a great print – for autumn. However, gaze a little closer and you’ll infer things are not what they seem. With its Winter-like aura the Batson spring / summer 2013 look book deserves admiration. Hair, make-up and styling all lean towards a frosty, snow queen effect, with faux-paint hair slicked down and snow eye lashes. Cold…

The Burberry Menswear flagship store put on a remarkable and memorable preview for the London Collections: Men. Hosted by Harry Treadaway and with the glitterati list consisting of Natalie Massenet and Tiny Tempah, the only menswear store in the UK, located in Knightsbridge, saw hundreds of fashion savvy folk flocking through the great doors.

The hues marching down the runway at James Long were a little bleak to say the least. However, not all is bad when you take a closer look. Mustard Yellow, old Dusty Pink, Dark & Milk Chocolate and Pewter Grey were the prominent shades taking over Long’s fall / winter 2013 collection. Knitwear seems to be as big as outerwear; 3D textured sweatshirts, hoodies and…

Accessories, as always, were a prominent feature on the spring 2013 catwalks; and the most covetable brand for accessories right now is Heaven Tanudiredja. His regal range of statement necklaces, cuffs and clutch bags have an empowering tone to them. We have gold, silver and mermaid fin green; stone and bead encrusted patterns all technically constructed to make wearable add-ons.

Wedding dresses, the one thing that every woman on the planet cannot help but swoon, smile and sometimes break out in hives over (the latter is an exaggeration). The Karen Willis Holmes 2013 campaign is by far the most fairy-tale evoking collection for next season. The bright whipped cream tulle cascading down into trains of all lengths remind us of those silent movies where costumes,…

Joel Janse van Vuuren is a bit like Disney but with clothes. Even though this shoot is named The Spirit of Galatea, which refers to the Pygmalion’s statue in Greek Mythology that came to life, I would like to analyse it through my glitter filled eyes. Shot by Ilse Moore, who is much like God’s gift to fashion photography, the campaign is able to fast…

“Anyone for ice cream… on your clothes?” The spring 2013 collection by Dora Abodi screams of sherbet shades in Transylvanian folk motives. Pieces which are plastered with animal motifs predominantly, and print on print styling gives this range a fun and fabulous synopsis. The look book begins with structured silhouettes; trouser suits with strong lapels over silk shirts. As the book progresses we move into…
