Kate Moss' diet advice

Written by Daniel P Dykes on 13.11.09

Want to get a supermodel body? Former hypermodel Kate Moss has a motto that she thinks might just inspire next time you have the craving for a patisserie or something else bound to go to your thighs.

Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.

Miranda Kerr's campaign for Kora Skincare

Written by Ren on 25.10.09

Branching out from modelling, beautiful Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr is launching her own beauty line. Apparently involved heavily in the product development process - from manufacturing through to packaging - Kerr named the line Kora, after a type of pilgrimage and meditation in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition.

A few shots from the launch campaign have come to light, showing a naked Miranda with loose waves in her hair, and looking natural and raw; exactly what the organic skin care range is promoting.

When fashion house Chanel debut a season nail polish colour quite a few people sit up and take note. And with good cause. Let's not forget that Chanel's Black Satin nail polish became a fashion trend unto itself back in 2006/2007. So it is that amongst all the clothes of the Spring 2010 catwalks at Paris Fashion Week we find the debut of Chanel's Spring 2010 nail polish colour.

Antidote Summer Glow: review + special offer

Written by Tania Braukamper on 22.09.09

After several long winter months of having my legs tucked away under tights, the first warm days of Spring are appearing and I'm excited to test out a new self-tanning product that will, hopefully, make my ghastly white pins socially acceptable again. The product in question is Summer Glow by Antidote; and the promises it makes are nothing really new. No bad smells? I've heard that a million times before. But the first thing I can tell you about Antidote's fake tan is that, true to its word, it doesn't smell bad. In fact, it actually smells rather good.

How to create a natural eye using 3 colours

Written by Angelique Snelleksz on 14.04.09

Natural eyeshadow lookHave you ever wanted to apply eyeshadow but don't know how? I would recommend you start with an eyeshadow trio or an eyeshadow quad. Most brands that sell trio or quad eyeshadows have already taken the guesswork out of which colours will work together.

A natural look is obtained by subtle blending of 3 eyeshadow shades.

  • For a natural makeup, use a light shade of eye shadow. Apply the lightest shade as a base on the whole eye lid area up to the brow bone. Even the shadow out with a firm applicator.
  • Next apply a medium shade to the eyelid area only. Blend the 2 shades.
  • With another applicator, use a medium to darker eyeshadow shade. Apply along the base of the eyelashes, shading it off upwards at the outer corner of the eye.

Beauty review: Lash Stiletto mascara by Maybelline

Written by Tania Braukamper on 09.04.09

Maybelline's 'Lash Stiletto' mascara claims to be the only mascara that does for eyelashes what stilettos do for legs. So is it true to its word?

Lash Stiletto definitely lengthens the lashes and makes the bolder, without clumping. The wand is easy to use, and the stiletto-shaped packaging is gimmicky but cute. That said, I wasn't blown away or made to want to start a long and monogamous relationship with it. It's not as revolutionary as perhaps I'd hoped. But, as far as mascaras go it's a great for day-to-day wear and comes at a very reasonable cost.

Lindsay Lohan launches fake tanning product

Written by Daniel P Dykes on 11.03.09

Oh Lindsay Lohan, how you do amuse me. Not not just for your wild child antics. Nor because you simply love posing naked. No, it's because you're one of the few Americans who have an British sense of humour. At least, I assume you do. After all, your launching of a fake tan product, Sevin Nyne Spray Tan, can only be a tongue-in-cheek attempt at self-depreciation. Right? Of course I'm right. After all, you've had far too many fake tan accidents, and even no tan at all, to lend any credibility to a fake tan product. Humour. You jest. It's April Fools a few weeks early.

Gessato men's grooming products + discount code

Written by Daniel P Dykes on 10.12.08

Thursday seemed the perfect day to start a new skin care routine. Because, with fewer than three hours sleep, Thursday was, in fact, Wednesday.

And Wednesday was typical.

Go to store opening/party/collection launch, check.
Indulge at the event (read; consume copious amounts of alcohol). Check.
Head out to dinner with friends. Check.
More alcohol. Check.
Head off to see a movie. Check.
More drinks afterwards. Check.

You get the picture.

What was out of the ordinary was the lack of sleep to follow such a night. 5am is an ungodly hour to wake up.

Hence the heavy eyes, the raw feeling skin, and the utter need for some quick love. No, not that kind. I mean the sort that makes you feel refreshed, not hot and sweaty. The kind of love promised by the elegant packaging of Gessato's skin care products for men.
