Like the vibrant patterned wings of the butterflies that inspired the collection, the two-toned lips at Dhini’s Australian fashion week show commanded attention. Behind the scenes Napoleon Perdis not only created the ingenious colour combination, he recognised that everything else should stay quiet and let the lips dominate:
This is a one-two colour punch. Keep the skin clean, the contouring subtle and let the lips stand alone – they’re more than capable.
And just as those lips are capable of standing along, so too are you of creating them. Find out how after the jump.
Backstage at Dhini’s spring 2011 show, the makeup team used the following Napoleon Perdis products to create the dual-coloured lip look:
- Top lip: Haute Pink lip pencil, DeVine Goddess Hara lipstick
- Bottom lip: Pinoit Noir lip pencil, DeVine Goddess Calypso lipstick
The rest of the face was kept fresh and pared back with subtle contour to the cheeks, softly defined brows, and lashings of NP ‘Peep Show’ mascara.
