Jessica Alba has one, so too does Kate Moss in her campaign for Roberto Cavielli. So what is the best way to achieve the perfect tan without having to wreck your skin in the sun?
There are several Fake Tan products in the market at the moment, but which one is the best? We tried and tested products from various companies – here are the results.
St Tropez Whipped bronze Mousse
Unlike some tans, which leave you smelling like a chemical factory, St Tropez Mousse is actually pleasant to the nose. It dries smoothly and quickly (in 30 seconds), is easy to apply and doesn’t feel sticky on the skin. St Tropez Mousse has a deep-brown base, as opposed to orange, so there’s no chance you’ll end up looking like a citrus fruit. It may not be the cheapest product in the market but for a fast and natural looking tan it is worth the spend.
Everbronz Self Tanning Lotion – Medium and Dark
If you want something that doesn’t involve any mousses or sprays, try Everbronz tanning lotion. It’s colourless and applies more like a moisturiser. Hence, its easier to avoid streaks. While we found the 20 minute drying time was a little tedious, the results are well worth it. Both the medium and dark leave you with a great glow. The medium is certainly subtle while the dark will convince your friends that you spent part of the last weekend in the sun!
Sally Hansen Pre-Tan Exfoliator
Smooth, soft skin is less likely to streak when tanning. Pre-Tan Exfoliator from Sally Hansen uses micro-crystals for a polishing effect that gets rid of rough patches, without being harsh. Best of all, it can be used on the face or body.
Sally Hansen Airbrush After-Tan
If you don’t have time to continually re-apply your tan, try a tan extender like Sally Hansen’s Airbrush After Tan. An instant, spray on moisturiser with aloe vera and retinol, it will extend any tan by 5 days. Its easy to use and doesn’t feel greasy or sticky.
