Anthony Vaccarrello’s spring 2013 collection consists of mostly a black and white colour palette so the make up look created by Estee Lauder makeup artist, Tom Pecheux was the perfect complement to the clothes. Models strutted down the runway with bright aqua lined eyes and soft lips making a refreshing change from the dark smokey eyes you might have expected to see.

The makeup was the reflection of Vaccarello’s water inspired collection. As for the bright aqua eyes, “the idea was to reflect the color of water,” according to Pecheux.

Remember that you have to be careful when trying to recreate this spring 2013 makeup look as it involves a bright unconventional liner shade. If in doubt, take cues from Anthony Vaccarello’s collection and wear it with a black, white or metallic outfit to make your eyes stand out.

Read on to see the do-it-yourself steps on how to recreate the aqua lined eyes from Anthony Vaccarello.

Vaccarello’s models had a matte effect complexion. To achieve this the face was layered with Estee Lauder double wear light stay-in-place foundation and Estee Lauder’s advanced night synchronized recovery complex.
Use two colors of mascaras for the eyelashes. Swipe the black mascara on the outer corners of the top lashes and brown on the outer corners of the bottom ones. Make sure it doesn’t clump! Estee Lauder’s two-tone eye opening mascara was created specifically for this purpose, incorporating both a black and a brown wand.
With a creamy turquoise eye pencil, line the rim of the eyes. Then, using a soft brush, use steel and soft metallic pink cream shadows over the lids before dabbing them with gloss for get the melted-on effect.

Pecheux used Make Up Forever’s Aqua Cream in Pink Beige and steel eyeshadow and NARS soft touch shadow in Heat pencil.
