Different artists draw inspiration from many different things. In the case of the Christopher Esber show at Australian fashion week (MBFWA), make up artist Napoleon Perdis drew inspiration from Lady Keith for the beauty look. Lady Keith was an heiress, a white anglo-saxon protestant who was a fashion icon during the 1950s and 60s. What Napoleon Perdis came up with is a 1950s style neutral look that is as striking as the socialites of New York during those times.
This vintage neutral look is just what Christopher Esber wanted. While being effortless, the look remains strong and sharp, perfect for the woman of today. To recreate this look for yourself, follow the how-to guide after the break.
How to: Christopher Esber make up
Start by prepping the skin for extra hydration. Use two pumps of Auto Pilot Napoleon Complex Skin Renewal Serum. Massage into the skin with your fingertips. Using Flawless Foundation Brush g19, blend Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Skin Primer over the entire face.
With Flawless Foundation Brush g19, apply Advanced Mineral Makeup across the ‘feature focus’ area (the triangle of features – eyes, nose & lips) of the face then blend in an outward direction for a flawless finish. Using the remainder of the foundation in the brush, lightly wash over the lips to neutralize the tone. To conceal any blemishes or skin discoloration use Pro Palette Concealer. For best application results use Full Coverage Brush g12.
Sculpt the contours of the face by shading with Camera Finish Powder Foundation Mahogany or Topaz. Using Contour Brush 16b for precise application, sweep under the cheekbone, along the jaw line and down the sides of the nose.
Blend a small amount of China Doll Gel Eyeliner Alabaster onto the inner corner of the eye using Corrector Brush g8 and continue on to highlight the top lash line.
Comb the brows and define with Eyebrow Pencil Pale Rider or Chocoholic. Feather the product onto the brow following the natural direction of the hair growth.
Using Architect Lip Brush 3h add a hint of tint to the lips by applying Pro Palette Concealer to the entire lip area. Pat with fingertips to achieve a completely matte look.
There are many different ways you can wear this beauty look: it’s a good mix of modern and classic, edgy and sophisticated, truly the best of both worlds.
