Red lipstick turned beauty statement

Wearing red lipstick is all about channeling inner confidence and although not entirely defined by novelty, this timeless product never ceases to lure in a dramatic effect. Bold, versatile and undeniably charming, the red lipstick should be perceived as an enduring make-up staple. Keeping red modern for fall 2013 is done by the way of a brand new spectrum of formulations.

But despite the new styles, one thing remains highly unaltered: the red lipstick turns beauty statement only with the help of a minimal make-up, which means that if you choose to set focus on the lips, you should wear as little eye makeup as you feel comfortable with. Also, a dark tan color with a satin finish will prevent you to step into vampire territory. As fall signals the return to rich colors, a high-impact red lipstick will act as an insurance that you will kick-off the season looking amazing.

Poppy red

Sweet hued and utterly romantic, inspired by ballet dancers and their lives on and off the stage, the red lips at Nina Ricci fall / winter 2013 were strong and very matte. Toasted red

For fall / winter 2013, the red lipstick became the key element to the elegant street beauty look seen at Felder Felder. Classic but carrying a sense of rebellion, the make-up matched a bright skin and a clear gloss on the eyelids, to a graphic red lip. The hot, statement lip immersed as a result of both a red lip pencil and flipstick being layered together in order to create a matte, toasted finish.

The beauty look at Zac Posen fall / winter 2013 serves as further proof that the traditional red lipstick took a darker turn for fall. Red lipstick & the new application techniques

As nothing in the fashion industry is known for preserving its novelty forever, it was bound for the fall 2013 season to also bring along a bunch of innovative make-up techniques. Leaving aside the new shades and textures, this season the red lipstick gained even more intensity through a string of unexpected application techniques. At Fyodor Golan, the dark lipstick trend was enriched with a gorgeous ombre effect that carried a strong Gothic feel. Two different shades of red, a black gel eye liner used to line the lips and a gloss made it all possible. Wear the ombre lips with matte sand colour eyeshadow for full impact.
