Makeup how to: a dusting of pink

It’s an almost surprise contrast: the rough, textured side braid with its tomboyish quality, and a beauty look centered around the colour pink.

But far from being the sugary pink icing of Chanel’s resort beauty look, or the hot pink you might expect from the ’80s, this is just a soft dusting of lilac-pink that adds the merest touch of girly to any look.

Shev Kelly for Napoleon Perdis created this subtle beauty look on Shauna Sieger for a shoot by Kelly Defina.

Follow the how-to guide after the break.

Apply a tinted moisturiser, concentrating on the feature focus area. For Shauna, Napoleon Perdis Off Duty Tinted Moisturizer was applied with the Flawless Foundation Brush g18.
Apply concealer to the under eye area and any areas of concern – Shev applied Pro Palette Concealer with the Conceal & Correct Brush g14.
Add Napoleon Perdis Camera Finish into the feature focus area to lightly set.

Cheeks

Contour the cheek bones using a small amount of foundation.
Add a highlight the top of the cheek bones. Shev used Napoleon Perdis Light Patrol Luminizer Palette in Ice Pink, then added a subtle stain to the apple of the cheeks using Barely Blushing Barely Rouge.

Begin by creating a soft wash of color over the mobile lid and blend towards the brow bone. Shev used Napoleon’s Flat Shader Brush 10b with Color Disc Lilac Maniac.
Add a nude shadow (in this case Color Disc Skinny Dip) onto the inner corner of the eye and brow bone to highlight using an angled chisel brush.
Coat lashes with mascara.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
