Venture forth into my wardrobes and you’ll notice that, for the most part, my most recent fashion investments all come from one artisan: Tom Ford. Slide out my scent draw and, amongst the Paul Smith, Ralph Lauren, Penhaligon’s and Creed bottles, you’ll find more than a few bottles from Tom Ford’s Private Blend. The pattern is obvious; even more so should you look through my pocket handkerchief, spectacle and shoe collections. So when a new Tom Ford product comes to market, even one made licence, you can imagine the potential for me to get rather excited. Imagine my disappointment then when I discovered that the latest products from the house of Tom Ford simply aren’t for me.
You see, the Tom Ford Private Blend Lip Color Collection (or Tom Ford lipstick to mere mortals) has recently been released in the likes of Harrods and Slefridges.
The first chapter in Tom Ford’s evolution into makeup, this collection is a luxurious expression of colours for the beauty connoisseur. Every woman will uncover her signature look with this perfectly calibrated wardrobe of universally flattering colours. Specially treated colour pigments are blended to deliver pure colour with just the right balance of luminosity for a polished finish.
“There is no more dramatic accessory than a perfect lip,” Ford says. “It is the focus of the face and it has the power to define a woman’s whole look.” Tom Ford.
Releasing twelve shades in total, the initial Tom Ford lipstick line comes complete with a gold and ivory case you’re unlikely to dispose of.
As exciting as the range is, it still presents me with a conundrum. I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t buy it. The question now is: who do I gift it to? Tania‘s birthday isn’t too far off, I guess.
