The spring 2014 make-up trends might have just offered us one of the prettiest and most versatile takes on editorial beauty in the guise of sparkling glitter, for looks that are imagined to transition beautifully from day to night. Merging together three of this season’s hottest trends, the beauty look at Karla Spetic’s spring / summer 2015 presentation during Australian fashion week (MBFWA) made the combination of glitter and graphic white liner appear fresh, modern and incredibly delicate.

Influenced by Chanel’s emblematic sparkling eye make-up, the white liner variation looks equally mesmerizing, being the perfect answer to a hot summer night party repertoire. Find out how to recreate Karla Spetic’s brilliant crystalled look by following the steps after the break.

How to: Karla Spetic’s crystalled glitter beauty look

Start prepping the face by using a weightless hydrating primer. To achieve the flawless take on fresh, athletic skin try using a primer that disappears upon application, resulting in a beautiful, healthy glow. Backstage at Karla Spetic, the make-up artists used MAC’s Prep + Prime Natural Radiance in Radiant Pink.
Apply foundation to create a natural satin finish built upon a sheer, natural looking coverage. MAC’s Face And Body Foundation was used backstage at Karla Spetic.

Next, proceed to cover up all skin blemishes using a lightweight, creamy concealer to maintain the overall natural and healthy aspect of the skin. At Karla Spetic, the MAC Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer was the product of choice.
Use a tiny amount of transparent powder on the cheeks and also across the chin to set up the makeup and reduce the shine. Using the tips of your fingers, pat a cream color base over the higher cheekbones, bridge of the nose, cupid’ s bow and brow bone.

Kiekie Stanners recommends MAC’s Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder and a combination of MAC’s Cream Color Bases in Luna and Pearl.

The Eyes: Start building the strong look around the eyes using a waterproof gel/cream liner in white. Add a thick, winged stroke across the top lid and an extra-thin layer of mascara (if you don’t feel comfortable keeping your lashes bare). Kiekie Stanners used the MAC Pure White Chromaline on the eyes.

Picking a spot under the lower lashes, begin to apply a pearlescent glitter. The easiest way to do it is by adding a drop of mixing medium on a flat brush, and then using the brush to pick up and apply the glitter. To that sparkling base you can further add a few bits of holographic glitter for more of a wow effect.

Backstage at Karla Spetic, Kiekie Stanners used the MAC Mixing Medium Eyliner, MAC’s Glitter in Reflects Pearl and Mac’s Pro 3D Glitter in Silver.

To finish off the look, swap a bit of dusty mauve lip color onto the cheeks and blend to achieve a natural blushing effect. Keep the lips bare, applying a flesh-toned lip balm. Kiekie Stanners used the MAC Lip Erase that neutralizes and erases natural colour from the lip.
