New Years Fashion Resolutions for 2008

Making resolutions is part of the fun of entering a brand new year! Even if we never actually stick to them... hmm, but I digress. There are times when we can stick to them and the year is all the more better for it. Resolutions can be about all sorts of things, whether it's to do with your health, your social life, your work or your education. But we here are all about fashion, so if you're looking to add a few fashion-related resolutions to your New Year's list we thought we'd give you some ideas.

Potential resolutions:

  • I will not leave the house without looking amazing. (No, that doesn't mean you have to glam up just to go to go to the post office. It means that you should never be wearing something you'd be embarrassed to be seen in. It means, that if someone saw you now they'd think you were effortlessly amazing. All the time.)
  • I will get out of my fashion rut. (Wearing all black every day? Resolve to inject some colour into your wardrobe in 2008! Sick of wearing the same comfy flats every day then decide to start wearing sexy heels.)
  • I will organise my wardrobe better.
  • I will save up and get that classic thing (bag, suit, pair of boots, whatever...) that I've always wanted.
  • I will fix all the clothes in my 'to mend' pile. (If you're like me and you always seem to have one, that is. E.g. just needs a button replaced, just needs the hem taken up... if you know you'll never get around to doing it yourself, resolve to take them to your local tailor!)

So there you go, some ideas on fashionable New Years resolutions to help make your 2008 more stylish, more confident and more fun! Tell us in the forums what your resolutions are - be they fashion-related or otherwise.

Keep an eye on our 2008 trends guide for more articles to get you started for the coming year.

Blog Post Written By Tania Braukamper
There aren't too many alpha-females out there and, though she might deny it, Tania certainly exudes their qualities. A keen eye, a focused approach, and a wardrobe spanning three rooms have made her one of the savviest of dressers. But it's not all couture for Tania, earning her fashionista credentials she'll frequently be seen on the town in a one-off, vintage dress and a pair of Gucci heels. She says: Vintage will never go out of style We say: Does that include vintage 80s?
