Fashion Means the World Runway Photos

Last night Tania & I made our way to Fashion Means the World, hosted by the fantastic Claire and Lucinda. Thankfully Wayne was on hand to take shots of the parade (featuring Joolz, Eco Girl, MüCKE, Chic Aktivist and Moneypenny) and the great looking crowd. His shots now available in the Fashion Diary.

Be sure to check out all the photos from the Fashion Means the World Parade.

Fashion Means the World - Melbourne

Fashion Means the World is a charity runway show profiting the Miss Earth Australia Foundation and the World Wildlife Fund. Featuring five Melbourne designers (Joolz, Eco Girl, Ethicool, Chic Aktivist and Money Penny) and 12 gorgeous models, it's a show not to be missed!

As well as the runway parade there will be live auctions, prizes, celebrity guests and more.

Tickets are just $15 full price or $10 concession, a small price to pay for a great night out and a good cause. Mark it into your diary for August 6th, and snap up some tickets while you still can! More details about the event can be found in the City Guides.

Reminder: Midnight Fashion, this Friday

The first Midnight Fashion event took place last year; an evening of fashion and entertainment in Melbourne's Bond bar. This Friday, the second installment of Midnight Fashion will take place at the Royal Melbourne Hotel - promising a bigger venue, better runway and another bunch of new and upcoming Australian fashion talent.

Designers showcasing at this Friday's event include:
Anna Campbell
Kiss Chacey
Shona Design
Nana Judy
Jaci Bailey
Chocolate City
Alexi Freeman
Voyager
LMaree, and
Gimp.

Fashionisers get a special rate on tickets for the event - so head to StickyTickets.com.au to grab some. You can also check out the full details of the event in the City Guides.

Midnight Fashion returns to Melbourne

Last year, Midnight Fashion launched it's first Melbourne event - and the response was so huge people were left queuing in the street to get in. So when the second event in the Midnight Fashion series hits town on Friday March 28th, it promises a bigger venue, better runway, improved door policy, and even more entertainment.

The event will showcase 10 of Melbourne's upcoming designer talents at The Royal Melbourne Hotel on Bourke Street. It's a great excuse to frock up (or suit up), have a few drinks, mingle with other fashion-lovers, and check out some new designs.

Fashionisers get a special rate on tickets for the event - so head to StickyTickets.com.au to snap some up before they sell out. You can also check out more details of the event in the City Guides.

Fashion@Fed Square: Moomba Meltdown

Mark it in your diaries, Melbourne fashionisers - the Fashion @ Fed Square breakthrough program is back for 2008.

March 13th will kick off the year's events with 'Moomba Meltdown' - a unique fusion of street and contemporary fashion design by seven hot new designers. Models, stay tuned to the job board and newsletter for your opportunity to be cast in the parade.

LMFF Runway Deluxe for charity

LMFF L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion FestivalWhile the fashion industry often holds events which benefit charities, these are, for the most part, closed events. LMFF, L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival will, however, give Melbourne fashionisers the opportunity to get their dose of fashion all while helping the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation. And there's an added bonus: international designers.

One of the most difficult aspects of fashion weeks across Australia is that they often feature only local designers. And while that still provides amazing clothes on the catwalk, there's more of a buzz to be felt in seeing new collections from bigger names. The 'Runway Deluxe' charity event will include the likes of DKNY, Donna Karan, Hugo Boss, and Moschino.

Reminder: BATMANIA charity parade, Melbourne

Tomorrow night designers Dhini, Trimapee, MaterialByProduct and Leopold will be presenting their wonderful designs at BATMANIA; an event supporting TLC for kids.

We'd just like to remind you that if you're in Melbourne you won't want to miss this. As well as mingling with the fashion crowd, there's also the chance to win:

  • 3 SHARP HipTop3 Mobile phones
  • A night at the Hatton Hotel
  • A dinner for 2 valued at $100 at Amigos
  • 4 Massage sessions at Skiin Beauty Domain
  • A pedicure and manicure session
  • An eyebrow consultation including tinting, shaping and waxing at Arch Enemy Eyebrows

The price of tickets is $47.50 and includes drinks on arrival plus entry into the After Party at the fabulous Baroq House nightclub.

Visit http://www.fashionising.com/batmania/ to book your tickets!

Reminder: Midnight Fashion launch, Melbourne

Those of you in Melbourne, just a reminder that the launch of Midnight Fashion is on tomorrow night at Bond Lounge, so if you haven't got your tickets yet now's your chance. Designers on show include Fashionisers Anna Campbell and Ma.te.a as well as a bunch of other upcoming talents.

For ticket information and to RSVP, visit the City Guides.

Batmania comes to Melbourne

Did you know that Melbourne, Australia was at one time called "Batmania"? Named, of course, after Batman. True story!

Now before I tell you about this Saturday's fashion event of the same name, I should probably just clarify that we were talking about John Batman, one of the city's founders, and not the superhero. (Yeah I know, not quite as cool.)

But anyway, Batmania the event will be very cool - it's supporting TLC for Kids, with parades from some of Melbourne's best designer talents. On the program are Trimapee (who wowed us at their A/W08 launch), Leopold, Dhini, and MaterialByProduct.

Darium, Emily Jane and Anna Campbell Parade

You are invited... to view the Spring / Summer collections of three amazing Melbourne designers - Darium, Emily Jane Lingerie and Fashioniser Anna Campbell! The parade will start at 9.30pm at The Saint hotel in St Kilda.
