Batmania comes to MelbourneDid you know that Melbourne, Australia was at one time called "Batmania"? Named, of course, after Batman. True story! Now before I tell you about this Saturday's fashion event of the same name, I should probably just clarify that we were talking about John Batman, one of the city's founders, and not the superhero. (Yeah I know, not quite as cool.) But anyway, Batmania the event will be very cool - it's supporting TLC for Kids, with parades from some of Melbourne's best designer talents. On the program are Trimapee (who wowed us at their A/W08 launch), Leopold, Dhini, and MaterialByProduct.

When: Friday 25th May Rosemount Australia Fashion Week CommencesStarting today, the RAFW Spring Summer 2007/08 Collections will be displayed in Sydney showcasing some of Australia's best designers. Over 100 designers will be displaying their collections during the five day program including Lisa Ho, Piper Lane, Nicola Finetti and Zimmerman. The full schedule can be seen Here. However don't hold your breath for designers Charlie Brown and Allanah Hill who pulled out at the last minute. There are reports that Miranda Kerr of Victoria Secret will be hitting the runway along with Australia's Next Top Models for designers Alex Perry and Alex Zabotto-Bentley.
Miranda Kerr is rumoured to appear Fashion Parade For A CauseAustralia Supporting Kids (ASK) will be holding a fashion parade and auction on Wednesday the 9th of May to raise awareness of poverty in Brazil. They will be contributing funds to the MORE project who are assisting children of Rio De Janeiro. This will be a great night with Capawerra performers, a Samba show, Catwalk parade and Charity auction. Fashionising are supporting the event, so make sure you look out for lots of gorgeous Fashionising members - both modelling in the parade, and providing a range of wonderful designs. |
