With less then a month till Australian fashion week (RAFW) kicks off in Sydney, the lid is slowly being lifted on what we can expect for the spring 2011 collections scheduled to be shown. While most designers are still keeping mum about whether they’ll be showing or not, swimwear label Lisa Maree is being anything but shy about the fact that they’re showing. After all, when sexy swimwear is your signature style shyness simply isn’t an option.

Ahead of the fashion week Fashionising.com caught up with the label’s designer, Lisa Maree Boersma, to see what women can expect of their 2011 bikini choices.

Specifically we wanted to get a feel for how the Lisa Maree spring / summer 2011 collection would compare to the autumn / winter 2011 collection (pictures of which you can see above and at the bottom of this article) – would it be a natural evolution, or would it sit in stark contrast? As Lisa Maree tells us;

“The summer 2011 / 2012 collection is titled ‘Under My Skin’. This season my inspiration comes from the native animals and landscape of Africa and its infamous Serengeti Sunrise. The focus is on warm hues, rusts and prints. As a former Graphic Designer, I design all of the prints myself, so everything is unique and exclusive to Lisa Maree.

Crochet swimwear is still very strong for us for summer 2011 / 2012, and we have some great colours and styles in both one pieces and bikinis. Following on from the success of our winter collection, we’ve expanded the lycra swimwear range, this will be a very strong sell point for the brand as we now have so many options to offer in the swimwear category. The prints in the lycra range work back with our luxe resort wear collection.

In terms of fabrication, the coming Lisa Maree resort wear collection is made with 100% silk fabrics.”

Late one Oxford night Daniel P Dykes set about creating a fashion publication that would go someway to being an arbiter on fashion as it appeals to the emerging power generations: those who don't remember a world without the Internet and for whom work plays second fiddle to pleasure. And so Fashionising.com was born as a publication for those who were focussed not just on fashion's trends, but on society's too, and how those trends could all go to heighten the art of living. Hence, Daniel sees a future where, for those young at heart, both fashion and style are grounded in traditional quality, but with a youthful, sensualised edge. Daniel is Fashionising.com's Editor in Chief and Chairman.
