It’s hard to know what came first: Balmain‘s military pieces or the women’s military fashion trend. What we do know is that the ostentatious military uniform revival did Balmain no harm, and vice versa. So as the military look tones down for Autumn / Fall 2010, so too does many a labels’ take on the look. In this instance the label is Balmain Homme, the trend men’s military and the look thoroughly 20th Century military.
While I’ve singled out the above double breasted sportscoat, with its naval inspiration, from amongst the new Balmain Homme look book, perusing the pictures you’ll find many key looks for the evolution of the men’s military trend. Pay careful attention to the shearling collared leather jackets: shearling collars are fast becoming the trend for this year’s cooler months.
