Beach Bunny’s inventive swimwear

Best of 2010: As we leave 2010 behind us, we take a glance back at some of the most popular, most inspiring and most talked-about content from Fashionising.com over the last year. This article was first published on 22.02.2010.

Perhaps the general lack of fabric is a valid limitation, but it seems that few brands really get imaginative when it comes to swimwear. It’s the sort of thing you can’t entirely reinvent (though the Victoria’s Secret topless monokini has probably come closest to doing so recently); but you can take the same old styles and reimagine them with new details. This bikini from Beach Bunny‘s Spring 2010 lookbook brings leather to swimwear in a way that’s elegant and even a little to the gladiator / warrior woman side.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
