You have to hand it to Daisy Lowe, she knows how to steal the spotlight. Sitting front row at Dolce & Gabbana Spring/Summer 2010 would be enough for some people, but when you’re a socialite-cum-model there’s a need to be photographed. So, naturally, you’d turn to the one fashion trend guaranteed to make that happen: underwear as outerwear. But even that’s not enough for Lowe. To ensure that her image spreads far and wide it’s not just any underwear that she donned, but a pair of knicker-style-shorts from the very collection she was there to see.

Getting your hands on next season’s collection ahead of time is no mean feat. Getting to show off Dolce & Gabbana’s high-waisted, red leopard print shorts before Natasha Poly did more impressive. Cheekily showing off (pun intended) your newly trimmed down figure, plain clever.

Late one Oxford night Daniel P Dykes set about creating a fashion publication that would go someway to being an arbiter on fashion as it appeals to the emerging power generations: those who don't remember a world without the Internet and for whom work plays second fiddle to pleasure. And so Fashionising.com was born as a publication for those who were focussed not just on fashion's trends, but on society's too, and how those trends could all go to heighten the art of living. Hence, Daniel sees a future where, for those young at heart, both fashion and style are grounded in traditional quality, but with a youthful, sensualised edge. Daniel is Fashionising.com's Editor in Chief and Chairman.
