Lingerie favourite The Lake & Stars are doubling in brass. And if you’re wondering what we mean by that, here’s your random lesson for the day: to double in brass is a Victorian era term which originated in the circus; when a performer was expected to ply more than one craft (like a brass player in an orchestra). It went on to refer to taking on a second job. And that’s what The Lake & Stars have done with this collection for Urban Outfitters – it’s a younger sister line bringing the brand’s lingerie as outerwear looks to the masses.

But enough etymology lessons… now let’s look at some super-pretty lingerie.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
