Let’s face facts: most bluetooth headsets make their user look like an utter twat.

But that’s something we’re likely to have to overcome in the near future as murmurs of the cancer causing properties of mobile phones become more common. Yes, with the pace of technology it’s not long until having to hold a phone to your head seems so 2000s, but until someone sits down and designs a bluetooth headset that doesn’t leave you looking like a Star Trek cast member that’s unlikely to happen. Bluetooth headsets simply haven’t been fashionable.

Part ring, part bluetooth headset, the Orb may be the answer.

fashionable bluetooth

Part fashion accessory, part mobile phone accessory, the Orb promises to merge form and function into a device that won’t have you ostracised. Wearing it as a ring, the OLED screen will show you whose calling. After a simple twist, pop it over your ear to take the call.

Slated for release in 2010, the Orb will sell for US$129.

Late one Oxford night Daniel P Dykes set about creating a fashion publication that would go someway to being an arbiter on fashion as it appeals to the emerging power generations: those who don't remember a world without the Internet and for whom work plays second fiddle to pleasure. And so Fashionising.com was born as a publication for those who were focussed not just on fashion's trends, but on society's too, and how those trends could all go to heighten the art of living. Hence, Daniel sees a future where, for those young at heart, both fashion and style are grounded in traditional quality, but with a youthful, sensualised edge. Daniel is Fashionising.com's Editor in Chief and Chairman.
