Regular readers of Fashionising.com may recognise Forget Me Not, the unique accessories label that is focused on the fusion of fashion, art and design. Coco Pit, the graphic artist, designer and illustrator who serves as the creative mind behind the label, portrays her impressive visions that see her interests in collage and enchanting montage, surrealism, esotery and mysticism all come together in the label’s scarves. All the illustrations that feature on Forget Me Not’s spring 2011 offering are by her personal hand, each a hand-drawn composition that becomes digital only in the final stage of production.
The latest collection of Forget Me Not spring / summer 2011 depicts impressive dream like scenarios divided into four groups of fantastic patterns: butterflies, ornate shells, tropical birds, and twisted ropes of snakes. The inspirations for this season’s offerings are taken from Coco Pit’s personal visions of mythology that transform into kaleidoscopic forms and geometrical abstractions. There is also a great impact of exoticism observable in the palette of ocean blues, rich purple and midnight black colours contradicted with neutral tones of backdrop.
