Gosia Baczynska is an esteemed fashion designer with a well-grounded place on the Polish fashion stage. Because of her significance in debonair femininity she is a favourite of self-confident women that are mature in style and grace. Notwithstanding that, her latest collection for the spring 2011 season breaks some conventions. The designer believes that on the edge of two opposite, even outwardly adverse characteristics there is a great spectrum for something creative, fresh and captivating. From now on her specialty is not only an elegant vibe but also a frivolity of experimental fashionistas.
This slightly different line presents experimental diversity in form. That is because of the inspirations taken from mutually exclusive personas – rebellious and nihilistic grunge diva Courtney Love, and classic conservative lady Grace Kelly. By the means of a sensual ad campaign Gosia Baczynska intends to portray such contrast in order to evoke wildness and ferocity juxtaposed with uncanny freshness. Two rising stars in modelling – Zuzanna Bijoch and Pat Pietrzak – transform into two lovers absorbed in some kind of disarray that resembles a blazing tango. This emotional game is captured by photographers Zuza Krajewska and Bartek Wieczorek. As the result a grunge claw merges with immaculate chic style. Fusion of Dior’s New Look with wild surfaces of lace and patent leather proves that Gosia Baczynska is a versatile designer.
