Well, the Josh Goot for Target Australia collection was released today – falling under the radar for a much more low-key and civilised opening than the previous Stella McCartney collection.

I headed over to Target at lunchtime to find the racks partly devoid of smaller sizes, but for the most part still quite full. I found that the colours and fabrics were stunning, the pieces well-made and the prices very reasonable. And yet, I left empty-handed.

The deterring factor was the sizing – I tried on an extra small trench coat and it was still too big…? It was much the same story for all the pieces I tried on. While having the Stella collection cut a lot larger than the actual sizing worked well due to the over-sized style of the clothing, Josh Goot’s figure hugging fabrics require the sizing to be true to its word.

What are your thoughts on the collection?

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
