Karolina Kurkova in Chanel black lace

When it comes to Chanel, the brand’s early 20th Century roots are never too far from mind. But while it’s thus not uncommon for a twenties inspiration to shine through, we can’t help but add Karolina Kurkova’s gently flapper-esque outfit to the growing list of signs a jazz-age revival is on the way. And, as I’ve mentioned recently several times, that revival is likely to be one that marries the historically thematic with the modern, not one of all-out costumery. Kurkova’s black lace Chanel dress and Maison Michel headband merge, ever so subtly, into exactly that sentiment. If you want to get onto the new flapper trend early, this is certainly one way to do it.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
