Fashion is forever changing and what it needs to maintain its reputation is a constant cycle of emerging talents and designers. Having said this, there is a designer which boasts this theory; LALL London. LALL London is the brain child of Gurdeep Lall who graduated in fashion in 2006.
Growing up amongst a seamstress, an entrepreneur and a mechanic, it’s hard to imagine the brains behind such a label to not be that of a multi-skilled man. His foundation has been built in such a way that each piece from his collection and past is oozing a sense of uniqueness and luxury.
The spring 2011 range is that of a fairytale in a pastel animal kingdom. Designed and created like a dream, each piece is delicately embellished and appliqued with the most unique of sparkle! The collection is titled Ornithorium and consists of chiffon vests, crepe tunics and dresses. Taking inspiration from Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds, we see a beautiful melange of sequined swans and phoenixes. Shades of tangerine, rose pink and chai build up this romantic, eclectic and ready-to-wear collection. This casual-luxe style is typical of LALL London and has earned its reputation for being a go-to label amongst press and stylists as it offers a fresh pallet of lushness and wearability.
The Fairy Tale element of the range is a mutual thread which runs through every season. If it’s not sequined and embellished hummingbirds then a chiffon vest with an iridescent touch is catching the setting sun. Either way this label is one to watch; rarely has there been such a casual way to wear luxury.
