Photographer Olivia Malone brings a pervasive quality to Lindsey Thornburg’s spring 2011 look book that can only be described as alchemy. Incantations of dresses and cloaks with a smattering of hand dyed graphic patterns evoke a dream-like mysticism and otherworldliness, making it difficult to choose a singular stand out piece. The Amber Dress, however, fabricated from loosely draped poly netting and layered over an apricot hued jumper, catches the eye immediately invoking the romantic nostalgia of the seventies.

Shot in Palm Springs, one can almost feel a present force of nature within the photographs. Perhaps this can be attributed to the monsoon that struck Palm Springs while the look book was being shot but it is without a doubt that each piece is a divination in its own right.
