Fashion Exposed, which will take place in Melbourne this weekend, is not just about well-established names. It’s also the place to discover budding new labels that are yet to hit the big time. One such label to grace Fashion Exposed this year is Mejikuh – a brand created by an ambitious team of two, neither of who have ever studied fashion.

Mejikuh's feminine pieces

With inspiration from the 1960′s, Mejikuh’s collection presents a la dolce vita look with hints of colours. The materials used are combined of Japanese Sateen, Italian Sateen, and Chiffon Silk. These materials are used in varies ways throughout Mejikuh’s latest designs with the overall effect of a feminine, alluring feel.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
