Playsuits have come and gone in a faddish way throughout the past five years or more, but for spring 2011 both the playsuit and jumpsuit have gone beyond being either in or out; the trend has carried over, but will either work or fail based on the quality and uniqueness of the pieces you choose. That’s largely a matter of what works for you: but a piece like Opening Ceremony’s ruffle onesi – with its gathered fabric, cinched waist, and steely grey colour – is one I can only imagine as a worthwhile investment piece. Turn it into a simple summer staple with sandals, or as a night-time statement piece with heels, a belt, and lashings of jewellery.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
