A little sister to Valentino’s main line, Red is built around a philosophy of youthful experimentation, borrowing influences from a wide range of people, places, eras. And spring 2011′s offering holds true to that mantra.
There are plaid pieces that Betty Draper might wear on the weekends. Crochet and flare-leg denim that are not so much straight out of the 70s as a modern, refined take on them. Lace skirts and dresses that sit somewhere between pretty and peasant, but either way have that girlish-innocence appeal. These are quality wardrobe pieces for the young, or the young-at-heart, always with a romantic edge and always with a sense of playfulness.
