The authentic London avant-garde feel merged with the craftsmanship of Italian artisans is the complete picture of the MariaFrancescaPeppe jewellery line. The concept is focused on the idea of ‘Jewellery-Wear’ – a functional, unique and one-of-a kind affiliation between accessories and clothing. The blurred boundaries between both attributes of fashion create a distinctive reinterpretation of traditional jewellery, pop symbols and amulets. With the touch of MariaFrancescaPeppe the pieces that used to be common and conventional for accessories transform into innovative forms conveying the inner powers and fresh ideas of the ‘Jewellery-Wear’ concept.

Because of that, there is no feeling of chasing trends or time limitations. The exceptional nature is highlighted by the everlasting functionality of the jewellery with a subversive perception towards fashion. The jewels crafted by MariaFrancescaPeppe are proudly supported and followed by significant pop artists including Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Florence Welsh from Florence + The Machine and many others.

The ‘Veleno’ collection for the spring / summer 2012 season reveals the fascination about the serpent symbol and its numerous interpretations from ancient Egypt and its reincarnation during the 1970s. This captivating lookbook outlines the true meaning of Jewellery-Wear by presentation of real snake juxtaposed with the jewellery line. This impeccable connection of the snake-inspired reality merges with the imagery exposition.

Serpent, the sign of snake taken from Latin serpetem, is regarded as an emblem of temptation and fatal attraction to pleasure as well as everlasting beauty and the natural process of decay. MariaFrancescaPeppe’s collection reinvents the serpent’s natural form creating the mixture of ethereality and mystery with a tribal twist of luxury. There are smooth geometrical surface configurations with void enameled eyes, architectural outlines of rings, cuffs and necklaces studded with genuine turquoises and gold pyramids a la Theda Bara. The form of a snake is cunningly interpreted by chained accessories either with impressive silk ropes or ornamented with snake shaped pendants, sharp studs and turquoise cabochons on vintage textured chains.
