Shawl neck cardigan: men's Winter staple

Written by Daniel P Dykes

Need a staple piece for your Winter 2009 wardrobe? Then why not take it from James Bond actor Daniel Craig's wardrobe?

Hitting the red carpet to promote his new film Defiance, Craig donned a knitted shawl neck cardigan (it looks like it might be a silk and cotton blend) from Louis Vuitton. Not your average cardigan, it sports a two-tone shawl neck (black and dark green) and contrasting buttons (navy). Craig wore it over a crisp white shirt, black tie (with a perfect dimple!), dark denims, and rich brown shoes.

Of course, your own shawl neck cardigan doesn't have to come from Louis Vuitton; I've personally bought all mine from Ralph Lauren who produces in at least one Autumn/Winter collection each year.
