I've always found it pretty hard to find a pair of specs that are both fashionable and reasonably priced. It's like the major optical stores in Australia have never quite cottoned on to the fact that glasses are a fashion accessory, as well as a necessity, for many people.
Specsavers, a highly successful UK franchise, have just hit Australia's shores, and I'm pleased to say they're finally making an effort to fill that market gap.

At last week's launch of the Collins Place store, I was treated to a bigger range of frames in more up-to-date styles than I've yet found in any other Australian store. They don't yet carry all the designer brands you'd like to see; but what they do stock is well worth the visit.
Price-wise, you basically get two sets of frames for the price of one - the company's philosophy being that glasses are an interchangeable fashion accessory like any other; so why stick to only one pair?? (And rightly so!) You can expect to find a store near you pretty soon, with 150 opening up nationally this year.
Visit Specsavers.com.au to find out more.
