Twenty-Seven Names: Spring/Summer 2009/2010

Written by Tania Braukamper

As soon as we spied the stand-out take on the military trend in Twenty-Seven Names' Spring/Summer 2009/2010 collection, we knew we were in love. A budding New Zealand label with a strong future on the horizon, Twenty-Seven Names bring a youthful aesthetic to their work that successfully walks the fine line between underground cool and mainstream appeal.

We adore the simple, almost sporty takes on the sheer trend; and the midriff-baring tops which are great for either layering or solitary wear.

For a hippie-infused casual look there are some slouchy peace-sign print tees, and if you click all the way through the lookbook (which we would definitely recommend) there are a range of jackets - from boyfriend blazers, to the military band jacket pictured above, to a trench-style cape. Suffice to say, there are definitely some pieces in this collection I am keen to get my hands on!

There aren't too many alpha-females out there and, though she might deny it, Tania Braukamper certainly exudes their qualities. A keen eye, a focused approach, and a wardrobe spanning three rooms have made her one of the savviest of dressers. But it's not all couture for Tania, earning her fashionista credentials she'll frequently be seen on the town in a one-off, vintage dress and a pair of Gucci heels.

She says: Vintage will never go out of style
We say: Does that include vintage 80s?
