Sienna Miller’s ample fame may have been the insurance that Twenty8Twelve would make an imprint in public awareness, but in the now absence of her and sister Savanngh the label is kicking on. With Elsa Elphick as creative director the cool-girl aesthetic lingers on for fall 2012, taking inspiration from the swinging ’60s but doing it in a very modern way. The collection brings in a mix of styles rather than sticking to a singular story: structured pink peplums find their way alongside flowing babydoll dresses and smocks, boyfriend blazers, tailored short suits and leather jackets. That may be a result of Elphick’s diversity of influences, from Vali Myers and Ed van der Elsken to Truman Capote.
Whether Elphick can distinguish the label enough to keep it alive long term, time will tell. For now you can view the full Twenty8Twelve fall 2012 look book at the gallery above.
