Though scheduled to be filmed in New York in November and aired on television sets worldwide in early December, a lot of eyes are already focussed on the 2009 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Its combination of some of the world’s best bodies, lingerie-as-couture designs, and a tempo and accessibility seldom reached at other fashion parades, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion show has become a stalwart of the fashion industry calendar.

Equally as dependable is the marketing that helps build anticipation for the show: not the least of which includes their show piece, diamond encrusted, ‘Fantasy bra’.

This year modelled by Victoria’s Secret Angel Marisa Miller, the Fantasy Bra has inarguably hit by these tough times. A cool US$2 million cheaper than the Fantasy Bra modelled by Adriana Lima last year, the 2009 Fantasy Bra will cost you a cool US$3 million. And what would you get for that?

The diamonds are in a harlequin pattern and contain white, champagne and cognac colored diamonds. There is also a 16-carat heart shaped champagne diamond pendant dangling in the middle.

Late one Oxford night Daniel P Dykes set about creating a fashion publication that would go someway to being an arbiter on fashion as it appeals to the emerging power generations: those who don't remember a world without the Internet and for whom work plays second fiddle to pleasure. And so Fashionising.com was born as a publication for those who were focussed not just on fashion's trends, but on society's too, and how those trends could all go to heighten the art of living. Hence, Daniel sees a future where, for those young at heart, both fashion and style are grounded in traditional quality, but with a youthful, sensualised edge. Daniel is Fashionising.com's Editor in Chief and Chairman.
