Pretty is certainly a specialty of Australia’s Collette Dinnigan. For her spring 2013 collection she invoked it through ways both familiar to her aesthetic and yet appropriate for the season: peplums, pastels and prints being the most specifically on-trend elements.
Dinnigan’s prints are floral and particularly beautiful, perhaps more so than the chantilly lace and beading elsewhere in the collection. These bursts of violets have an artistic quality, like they might have once graced an antique French vase.
Though in terms of Dinnigan’s signature lace, there’s one dress particular worth noting for its illusory quality: a dark blue lace dress with nude panels at the sides, visually drawing in the lines of the waist into the most flattering of shapes.
