The slit that rises up the thighs. The short hem. The way the the sheer layer responds to the wind and movement thus breathing life into the dress. The way statement after statement are layered into this one, little black dress. The stone balcony. The palm trees beyond it. The water, and all the yachts moored in it, beyond those same trees.
All of these things on their own are eye catching. Together they’re intoxicating.
My photographs of Jessica Choay’s lace Nostalgia dress might have been the first of her spring 2014 collection that Fashionising.com featured, but it was Deseo, her collection’s little black dress, that I photographed first. On a hanger it seemed promising. Laid out with other samples from the collection it stood out. On blogger Doina Ciobanu it came to life and the attraction of its design was realised. Every reason to want to photograph this particular little black dress, vindicated.
Little black dresses come in all guises, but this one proves that your wardrobe should only have space for those that make a statement. The statement you make mightn’t be one of dress slits, but it has to be there.
Jessica Choay’s Deseo dress can be ordered via firstname.lastname@example.org ahead of her spring 2014 collection’s release; you can see all the photos I took of it by clicking the thumbnails. In the photos, Doina Ciobanu of The Golden Diamonds wears the dress with Christian Dior sunglasses, an ASOS chain bracelet, and Christian Louboutin heels.
