“Anyone for ice cream… on your clothes?” The spring 2013 collection by Dora Abodi screams of sherbet shades in Transylvanian folk motives. Pieces which are plastered with animal motifs predominantly, and print on print styling gives this range a fun and fabulous synopsis.
The look book begins with structured silhouettes; trouser suits with strong lapels over silk shirts. As the book progresses we move into more of a concoction of fabrics; laser cut leather tops, dresses and jackets with metal and sequin embellishment. Chiffons over metallic and fringe leather make for a full-on collection, which by no means is made for the light-hearted-I-want-to-hide type.
The look book is styled by Abodi’s own accessories for spring 2013; prints are mirrored with folk motives on boots too. Boasting the statement clutch trend, Abodi has done the over-sized option, the Helmet egg bag, the fringe satchel bag and of course the hard-case clutch. Jewellery is another wow-factor in this collection, show-stopping necklaces and earrings piled high with complimenting, metal bolted headbands. “Will you be having one scoop, or two?”
