Diffusion lines – most high-end designers and labels try their hand at them at one stage or another. Sometimes it’s in the form of a capsule collection for a retailer; Zac Posen for Target. At other times it’s in the form of a sub-brand; the now defunct D&G as a sub-brand of Dolce & Gabbana.
Fashion label Helmut Lang is following the latter route, with the launch of the Helmut diffusion line.
The Helmut diffusion line brings the soft and drapey aesthetics of Helmut Lang to a cheaper price point, with most pieces in the capsule collection selling between $150 and the high $200s.
