Under the spell of a hippie summer

Summer is escapism. It ushers in an aura of freedom, where you to wear whatever you wish and be whomever you want. Recite it either with attitude, clothes or accessories, there are no limits in the sultry heat.

Adhering to Byron Bay’s chilled-out attitude, accessory label Spell is out to ignite your inner-Gypsy with its spring / summer collection. The latest look book takes the Native-American tribe to the quaint beaches of the Australian town where you’d want to get lost and not worry about the sand between your toes.

When feathered headgear, aqua beads, elephant tusk necklace, and leather choker are placed in the afternoon sun, their raw aesthetic stands out even more. The tribal prints against suede material set a bold and daring tone for the season, as far as accessories are concerned.

This shoot has been styled by the designers themselves, where the jewellery has been teamed with pastel hued clothing. The almost-bare face with messy ombre strands resonate the label’s hippy feel.

Pieces like these are suitably apt for festivals this summer wear with a white crop top, shorts and tie-up sandals. Top it off with a side-parted messy braid, nude lips and a dash of mascara. No one will question where you’re from.
