I've loved Barbour (J. Barbour & Sons) for a long time. With its heritage, style, and obvious quality it epitomises a lot of what I love about fashion. So naturally I'm thrilled to read of their new collection, Britprep, which aims to draw a line between the American Preppy look and its more understated British cousin.
The L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF) kicks off soon, and to tie in with the 'fashion fever' which will undoubtedly sweep Melbourne Romance Was Born has designed a special capsule collection for Sportsgirl. Called Clownin' Around the collection features five one-off museum pieces.
Didn't I mention that Debut @ Fashion Exposed would unearth some fantastic new design talent? Well, here's a peek at another finalist in the Debut program, Tilley Row. The collection, titled 'Moon Goddess', features an array of amazing fabrics from fine silk georgette to metallic cotton, parachute silk and lycra.

Fashion Exposed is on in Sydney this weekend. Visit http://www.fashionexposed.com/ for more information, or click on the gallery below to see more from Tilley Row's debut collection.
If you don't have a trusty leather jacket (or three) to last you the colder seasons, then your wardrobe is incomplete. Whether for male or female, the leather jacket has become more of a staple than ever, and while there are dozens of cheap versions on the market it's quality that will make any leather jacket stand the test of time - and even get better with age.
Enter Vincent and Vincent; a new Australian leathergoods label that launches their debut collection this month. Focusing on high quality materials and traditional hand-made construction, these pieces are made to last.
As well as the care that goes into every piece, Vincent and Vincent inject a cool-factor into their jackets that makes them all the more appealing. Collection One manages to encompass styles that range from vintage-inspired cropped biker jackets, to tailored leather evening jackets, without compromising the brand's essence or signature feel.
A contingent of leading Hong Kong based designers will be coming to Sydney this March for Fashion Exposed. Among the designers is Harrison Wong, whose collections regularly hit the runways at the New York and Milan Fashion Weeks.
Harrison Wong's Spring/Summer 2009 collection, which is a flirtatious foray into bright colours and sporty cuts, will make its Australian debut at Fashion Exposed.
With more bed hair than you can safely point a can of hair spray at, hypermodel Kate Moss does her utmost to show off one of the key pieces from her Kate Moss for TopShop Spring/Summer 2009 collection: this one-shouldered mini-dress with circular cut-away detailing.
But naturally for such a commercial collection, those aren't the only fashion trends you'll find amongst her Spring/Summer 2009 look book.
Remember what we said about feature heels being a shoe trend for 2009? Dior were high on that list with their rather interesting tribal figurine heels. Mischa Barton bravely stepped out in the shoes in question, which come from Christian Dior Spring/Summer 2009 collection.
Photos from Topshop's Spring/Summer 2009 collection are now available; and there are some pieces that have me instantly reaching for my credit card.
There are trends a-plenty to spot in the lookbook too, from the boyfriend demin trend to fetish-esque studding, to gladiator sandals and fringed boots - two shoe trends for Spring/Summer 2009.
Hotly anticipating the MCQ Alexander McQueen for Target collection? Well pictures of the range are now up on Fashionising.com.
Australian designer Alexi Freeman has always been a favourite of ours; from his demure A/W08 collection to the fun and flirty 'Nautical But Nice' of S/S09. Alexi's latest offering brings a daring palette of fluro yellow, soft grey and silver, as well as the unique 'criss cross' sketch pattern in hues of charcoal and black.
The standouts of the collection are of course the disco-mesh pieces; which I've seen up close and can vouch that no photos could do justice for. Lightweight and semi-sheer, the disco-mesh shimmers from black to blue to gold with changes in movement and light.
If you're in Hobart, you can preview the collection on January 22nd; and also order pieces on the night at 50% off! For the full details, visit the city guides.
