Lingerie as Outerwear: More Street Style

Written by Daniel P Dykes on 18.05.09

The last time I mused over lingerie on the street I pointed to blogger Gala Gonzalez as providing some excellent inspiration for the lingerie as outerwear fashion trend. Well here's another example of Gala hitting the streets in exposed suspender stockings.

Bordelle lingerie Autumn(Fall)/Winter 2009

Written by Tania Braukamper on 18.05.09

If you're looking to venture into the lingerie as outerwear trend in a bold and daring way, then here's a label you should definitely consider. Bordelle's strappy pieces borrow inspiration from the bondage trend, while others are more to the architectural side. Suffice to say, many are far too fantastic not to wear on the outside.

Lingerie as Outerwear: More Exposed Stay-Ups

Written by Daniel P Dykes on 11.05.09

Leave it to Rumi Lenora to get behind a growing fashion trend. We've seen her in ripped stockings and one hell of a cutaway dress, and now we can add lingerie as outerwear to the list with her recent blog update featuring exposed stay-ups from Hot Topic.

Like the rest of us it seems that Victoria Beckham must also love her Balmain, as she flies between LA and New York for the MET Costume Institute Gala wearing the Balmain Mes Cocos jacket.

Matthew Williamson for H&M Mens Spring/Summer 2009

Written by Daniel P Dykes on 06.05.09

I can't tell you how royally annoyed I am at not having London on my travel itinerary for this coming Summer season. And no, it's not just for the long nights, amazing bars, and the opportunity to laze away months in my favourite city. Those are all things near and dear to me, but coupled with the fact that I won't have the opportunity to shop for Matthew Williamson's men's range for H&M at their Regent Street or Covent Garden stores simply compounds the pain.

Fans of Matthew Williamson will be in heaven; the designer's collaboration with chain-store H&M bringing some must-have summer pieces into fruition, and of course at a fraction of the normal cost. Heavily based upon his Spring/Summer 2009 collection, the H&M capsule plays upon floaty exotic kaftans, peacock-feather prints, and a colour palette of eye-poppingly bright pinks, aquas, yellows and blues.

Lindsay Lohan in fringed, cut-away monokini

Written by Daniel P Dykes on 01.05.09

Lindsay Lohan, this basically redeems you of all past transgressions. Less than a week after we tout the virtues of Free People's fringed monokini you hit Maui wearing one.

Lindsay Lohan in a fringed bikini

With it's plunging fringed neckline and it's cutaway design, it's the perfect 2009 bikini and one that seems more than a little flattering on you.

While we adore the fringing trend for its reminiscence of the roaring twenties and all things flapper, there are other bolder and sexier uses for fringing as well. Pair the cutaway swimsuit trend with some fringing and this is what you end up with: the Stardust Fringe Onepiece.

Debut collection from e.g... London

Written by Tania Braukamper on 24.04.09

London label e.g... have just launched a debut collection which grabbed our eye for its interesting shapes and unique mix of the futuristic and the classic. Accurately described as being for a split personality - "a tough tomboy with a youthful girly look" - the collection sports many accentuated shoulders (a growing trend), sharply structured pieces, and contrasting drapes and folds.
