Zip Jewellery by Kate Cusack

Written by Paula Teixeira on 09.05.07

Zip in English or fecho-eclair in Portuguese. The zip was an invention that revolutionised the ready-to-wear world; it's as useful as paper clips. Both are designer items, useful and in our day to day life and we don't give then its true value. But now we have Kate Cusack, a jewellery designer that lives in Brooklyn. She wants to show the world the potential of the zip. She designs necklaces and pins using zips to do it. She creates unique articles that are full of imagination and are very sophisticated. When she is working she pays special attention to materials, colours and textures. The result is very unique.

First look at Sienna Miller's fashion line

Written by Daniel P Dykes on 07.05.07

Fashion capsules created by celebrities, be they Kate Moss or Lily Allen, are certainly de jour right now. However, Sienna Miller has seemingly one-upped everyone with her own label - twenty8twelve. The label, its name taken from Sienna's birth date, is a collaboration between the model-cum-actress and her sister Savannah.

Despite having been on the cards for almost a year now, the label is backed by Carlos Ortega (owner Pepe Jeans), only one picture has emerged to date;

Barely a day after its release, has the Kate Moss for TopShop collection already sold-out? It seems it may be that way online.

Miss-En-Scene - Shoes by Coq.Luxe

Written by Paula Teixeira on 27.04.07

Sara Rochas and Ines Golcalves are sisters and the designers behind Coq.Luxe, a new Portuguese brand of shoes. Coq.Luxe started as a conversation between the two sisters at the table of a cafe, from where it jumped to the red carpet, as they say, referring to the Storytailors fashion show in Paris, last January. For this event they created exclusive shoes.

Coq.Luxe was born mainly because, shoe addicts as they are, they need to find a solution for a very serious problem. Sara and Ines needed to know how they could manage their salary in order to feed the shoe addiction. The solution was... working with the items that gave them pleasure. So Coq.Luxe was born.

After getting the attention of a factory in the north of Portugal, Helsar, the first collection came to the world, this Spring. It's inspired in the Cinema Divas, the Miss-En-Scene collection presents nine high heels platform pair of shoes.

At this time, the next collection is ready to hit the stores, the second of two Portuguese designers that want to make Coq.Luxe a Five Star brand.

Their website will be up soon at www.coqluxe.com.

Kate Moss on your fashion

Written by Daniel P Dykes on 25.04.07

Hypermodel Kate Moss could probably create a fashion trend out of a plastic bag, but with the Kate Moss for Topshop capsule hitting stores in May it's going to be a heck of a lot easier to dress like her.

But what if you're looking to honour Moss without actually cloning her look? Instead, turn to the number of brands capturing Moss' look (her face, nose, eyes, and amazing cheek bones) as prints on their clothing.

These two tops, both featuring a print of Moss, are from Swedish/Parisian designers Burfitt. And they're not the first to channel the model in this way, we've seen her face featured on everything from underwear to jewellery.
