It’s more Princess Grace than Diana, Princess of Wales (for which a billion people breathe a collective sigh of relief) – and the wedding dress worn by Kate Middleton will, beyond a shadow of a doubt, be all kinds of influential. Designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen the dress manages to strike that fine and perfect balance between intricate detail and understated refinement, being…

The pristinely cut leather shell top and wool-crepe skirt come together to create what can only be described as a piece of 2011 minimalist heaven. Between the contrasting textures, held together with two small buttons, is a little midriff peeking space which, along with an open back, gives this piece all the uniqueness it needs to be a stand-out transeasonal black dress. So very Chloe.

Is it just me, or are good skirts harder to find than they should be? They’re usually too much or not enough, too detailed or too plain. Sometimes, you just want a ridiculously-cute coral pink mini with no other detail bar for a neat petal hem to take you into sweet-60s-chic territory. Most of the asymmetrical skirt hems we’ve been seeing have been of the shorter-in-front variety, but that’s not to say that a version like Cheap Monday’s isn’t just as effective. Here’s a statement-making dipping hem that’s good for both day and night: the rust ruffle dress, a cotton number in that oh-so-now burnt orange hue with tiered ruffle detail.

It may not be a sheer maxi; but this 6 Shore Road dress still beckons us with promises of effortless days and thrilling nights. Yes, a black maxi can form the basis of many a look. This one is a jersey fabric with a criss crossing lace-up front (or back! You can wear it as either.)

Miishka vintage have developed something of a cult following. Operating out of a simple Facebook page store, the core to Miishka’s success is its focus on beautiful, hand-picked product. It’s pretty much a given that if I visit Miishka i’ll inevitably end up falling head-over-heels for some quirky floral blouse, vintage designer dress, or uber-cool pair of denim cutoffs. It’s no wonder things get snapped…

Ever since Yvan posted these pictures up on Face Hunter yesterday, I’ve been getting lots of questions about the dress. This is one I picked up online, made from beautiful quality vintage lace. I totally fell in love with the bell sleeves and scalloped hem – and while I paired it with Gucci heels and some vintage jewellery for the Kenzo flagship store launch, it…

Every year as the holiday season rolls around we’re left rummaging through our wardrobes for something great – no, make that showstopping – to wrap ourselves in for the Christmas parties, the functions, the New Year’s soirees. This year it comes down to sparkling sequins, heavenly high hems and jewel-bright maxi dresses that sweep the floor with more than a subtle dose of 1970s vintage-inspired…
