LOA S/S ’14 look book

A garment always feels more special when it’s hand-made. Lidia Aguilera’s young label LOA features the kind of unique finishings and embroideries that can’t be found in mass-produced product: a mix of the folklore, traditions and craftwork from Aguilera’s home Island of Formentera with the freshness of spring trends and the cosmopolitan vibe of modern Barcelona.

Very Sexy: Karlie & Doutzen for Victoria’s Secret

Victoria’s Secret can easily be charged with accusations of doing a lot of the same, same but the formula clearly nets them millions of profits, so why change it? The latest campaign for the “Very Sexy” push-up bra (aren’t they all?) is very sexy indeed, filled with night time city lights in bokeh form, Doutzen Kroes’ Angel waves, and Karlie Kloss’ infuriating combination of rock…

The low bun is somewhat of an evergreen style, made relevant amongst the spring 2014 hair trends by its effortlessly feminine feel, adorned here and there with a few smart, modern twists. The low bun looks equally beautiful with a cozy, oversized knit, or a plunging little black dress, which kind of makes it the perfect style to master for a long weekend. You can…

Falling hard for pretty pastels

Pastels within themselves are an incredibly delicate group of colors, rather heavenly than sensual, particularly pretty and sweet, but not often enough imagined to look sexy or intense. That’s why they require a certain passion to go against their soft nature if the ultimate purpose is to turn them into an irresistible display. All black mystery: in Paris

Turns out there are multiple ways to create a mysterious look out of an all black outfit – and I snapped several of them in the same place a few minutes apart. The first was edgy layers, the second urban Zorro, the third consisted not of any sheer blouses or Gaucho hats, but of a beautiful face shrouded in a black scarf.

Fete Champetre S/S ’14 look book

Kimberley Gordon’s photoshoot work allows you to get lost in the sensual poses and sheer tulle of Fete Champetre’s spring / summer 2014 look book, all the while overlooking the limited selection of clothing. Who needs more than a few white tailored pieces, some bandeaus and boy shorts, when you have a set of images so grabbing in mood?

The white shirt against ovarian cancer

Cancer. The word itself seems malevolent, infected. The disease touches so many, directly and indirectly, in its multitude of forms. In Australia, one woman dies every 10 hours from ovarian cancer alone, which is why research into an early detection test is such an important first step in combatting the disease. The shirt I’m wearing in this picture is one from the “Unite In White”…
