But that didn't stop the first main show of L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF) from going off without a hitch last night. The first of seven main parades to be held as part of the A/W 2008 retail festival, yesterday's show included designs from camilla & marc, Ginger & Smart, Jayson Brunsdon, Kirrily Jonhston, sass & bide, Leona Edmiston, and Marnie Skillings. Model and long-time face of David Jones Megan Gale bade an emotional yet gracious farewell to the David Jones runway - accepting a bunch of flowers while a flutter of "snow" rained down gently at the end of the runway. La Perla Autumn-Winter 2008-2009 Round-UpLa Perla sure didn't skimp in the use of this years sheer trend, which makes for some incredibly hot pieces. There's also a sprinking of yellow throughout the collections which really serves to brighten it up.

Blumarine Autumn-Winter 2008-2009 Round--UpI really liked the Blugirl, so I thought I might like the Blumarine collection aswell and I was right. It was awesome to see some splashes of colour amongst a sea of collections which seem to have been largly monotone. With cuts ranging from sexy to cute, again I'm a fan.

There's a whole lot more great stuff in this collection that's worth checking out but there wasn't enough space to squeeze it into the image above. Gianfranco Ferré Autumn-Winter 08-09 Round-upEven though Gianfranco Ferré has passed on, his design house still lives on and this is their first fall collection without him. The collection was put together by his design team after the departure of Lars Nillson's and the dropping of his fall designs.

Blugirl Autumn Winter 08-09 Round-upI'm in love with this collection, it's just so cute from the knits to the ski googles it makes me miss the snow, and wanting to warm up in front of a fireplace. Too bad we probably won't see to much of it worn here in Australia. Oh well, who cares though right! Who's up for a hot chocolate with a marshmallows? Ready? Here are my favourites from the Blugirl collection:
