So what do you think, is it a masterpiece, or is it a blue that would have been better left behind? Have your say in our Celebrity Fashion: Hit or Miss thread in the forum. Dannii Minogue at Australian Fashion WeekThey've dropped model Monika Jagaciak from the line-up, so which names will get RAFW the headlines? Someone that most of our international readers won't be familiar with: Dannii Minogue. Street Style with StephMonday, along with my trusty sidekick Michelle, was spent battling the cold and unpredictable weather of Melbourne to bring you some very awesome street style. Ok, so we did have a bit of trouble tracking down the well dressed but the ones we found really are quite cool!
Our first king of cool was Rowan, who did seem a little scared as we jumped out at him to praise him of his awesome outfit, bowl cut and stylish man-bag. His favourite place to shop is the Lions Club Op-Shop. James Bond and fashionWith the 22nd James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace, due in cinemas in November 2008, Fashionising.com will be dedicating part of 2008 to looking at the fashion behind the James Bond film franchise. Bond has a unique place in fashion cinema, while films such as Atonement leave us admiring the heroines wardrobe, seldom does a 'guy flick' dedicate so much time and effort to presenting such a brilliantly refined fashion ensemble.
Leave it to Star Wars fans to dress up like Princess Leia in a bikini (with both terrific and horrific results), Bond fans will spend their lives seeking to dress better, whether they're looking to dress like a Bond girl or James Bond himself. Doutzen Kroes in a black bandage dress @ LMFFSupermodel Doutzen Kroes looked amazing in a black Herve Leger bandage dress and tan clutch at last night's L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF) show. The Dutch beauty (frequently seen on the major international runways, as well as totally stealing the spotlight in the Victoria's Secret catalogue I got in the mail last week) has been lured to Melbourne for the festival.
Doutzen posed for a few snaps for Allan, which can be found in the Fashion Diary. Come out and PLAY: rise of the designer teeOne can easily be forgiven for thinking that mass production results in greater choices for clothes. But take a closer look at those varied options and you'll see that they are practically all the same. For example the humble t-shirt; perhaps one of the most mass produced clothing items. Just in the last couple of years we have seen a myriad of fluorescents, vintage prints, Asian fonts, stripes, spots, logos, V-necks, crew necks, boat necks and more. Every season it's just another case of "same same, but different". Even that was done to death.
Keira Knightley's Atonement dress for auctionWith Art Deco a trend again, what better time for Keira Knightley to auction off her gorgeous emerald green gown from Atonement. I'd already praised the costuming in Atonement and you may also recall that the green dress was voted the best film costume of all time in a magazine poll.
The dress is up for grabs at the Clothes Off Our Back charity site and is currently at $6,000. Wouldn't you just love to win it? |
