Wellingtons were a fashion staple when the Future Music Festival stormed into Melbourne yesterday (literally). A few rainless hours saw festival goers happily enjoying the music and the sunshine, before Franz Ferdinand‘s set was interrupted by a violent change in weather conditions. Clothes were dampened; the mood was not. The crowd became a mass of plastic ponchos and muddied, puddle-stomping dancers, while we and other revellers looked on dry and warm from the first class viewing deck.
Ripped stockings, denim cut-offs, exposed stomachs peeping out from beneath cropped tops: as you’d expect we saw these things in droves. Not perfect for the cooler weather, but certainly perfect for capturing that rock chic festival look.
