With L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF) only just over, we thought we’d have a while to wait before we could look forward to another big fashion event in Melbourne. As it turns out, we were wrong – with a major new concept being launched this coming weekend.

Taking place at Central Pier, Docklands from 17-19 April 2009, LiveStyle will marry music and fashion; with runway shows, DJ performances, workshops and plenty more on the schedule. The thing we’re most looking forward to though is the 50+ pop-up boutiques which will be selling sale stock and new season collections direct to the public.

LiveStyle Festival Melbourne 2009

Local and international brands participating in LiveStyle include Bettina Liano, Phillips, G-Star, Diesel, Roy, Hudson, Taverniti, Dizingof, State of Georgia, Shakuhachi and Bloom, while high-end fashion retailers including Cyberia, Della Spiega and Cactus Jam will also feature.

If you want to check it out, ticketing information can be found at http://www.livestylefestival.com.au.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
